"It's quite easy to get used to - the feeling of being safe.”
Listen to Candice’s story as she tells us all about the move that she made from Cape Town to Melbourne 8 years ago with her teenage daughter. Initially, she attended a conference, where she ended up meeting the man of her dreams - who was an Aussie. After tackling a long-distance relationship for about two years, Candice decided to make the move over to Aus on a Partner Visa and has just recently become an Aussie citizen.
Candice shares with us how she settled in initially and the journey that she followed to have the life that she lives now. As an actress and voice-over artist, Candice is now involved in producing her own solo shows and she have been a big hit in Aus. She’s recently taken part in a Comedy Festival called Fringe, where she tells the story about her life as a SAfrican and her move over to Aus - which most SAfrican migrants can relate to of course.
Candice enlightens us about some of the difficulties both her and her daughter initially faced when making the move over, and how they have since embraced both the freedom and safety that they now have living in Aus.
